Session 1

In the opening Session 1, we begin with a wide ranging introduction to the history, context, and landscape of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and their applications.

We cover selected mathematical and theoretical computer science topics that form the computational foundations of AI and ML.

A variety of search and optimization algorithms are surveyed and explored as key models in classical algorithmic AI.

03:00 PM
Session 2

Session 2 builds up on the context and background laid out in Session 1 and takes us through a variety of nature inspired models and algorithms for intelligent behaviour. Then we start from the foundations of machine learning and proceed to a deep dive introduction to neural networks, deep learning networks, and a variety of widely used and effective neural learning models including convolution neural networks, recurrent neural networks, long short-term memory networks, and entropy based learning networks. We end by taking a second deep dive into understanding other generic learning concepts and models including reinforcement learning, competitive learning, and transfer learning.

03:00 PM
Session 3

In this final session we get a rapid overview of a variety of common AI applications, including text processing, NLP, signal processing, speech recognition and synthesis, image processing, object recognition, computer vision, video analytics, face recognition, data analytics, time series analytics, robotics, autonomous vehicles, etc.

This is followed by a survey of AI tools, APIs, datasets, and software platforms that are most widely used in the industry, issues and directions in high-performance AI and ML including the use of multi-core CPUs, many-core GPUs, FPGAs, and new generation parallel computing hardware accelerators.

Finally we conclude by reviewing some of the challenges and limitations of AI, issues in ethical AI, explainable AI, and dangerous AI. We also cover recent directions in edge AI and IoT, and other emerging technologies, followed by practical AI and ML career prospects and job opportunities, in India and global.
